4 essential plans in Campanet

4 essential plans in Campanet

Campanet is the perfect definition of the authentic Mallorca. Located in the Northwest of Mallorca, this small town offers great charm of the Mediterranean island to make your getaway peaceful, relaxing and truly memorable. To make it easier for you, we have put together four of the best plans and things to do in Campanet so that you do not even have to think.

• Explore the famous Caves of Campanet

The town of Campanet, in Majorca, is well known for its wonderful “Coves de Campanet”. This is the number one plan if you plan on visiting the town. They are situated in one of the most spectacular valleys of the island, are surrounded by an enviable rural landscape, and have an area of 3.200m2. Dress comfortably and enjoy a complete tour through all its galleries, let yourself be impressed by the innumerable stalactites and stalagmites and their colours. Then finish your visit by relaxing at the cafeteria / restaurant.

The Caves of Campanet are open throughout all the year, and that is a plan that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. During the winter they are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and in summer from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Visiting this amazing natural place, it will cost you only 15€ as an adult and 8€ for each child. Our recommendation is to book an approximate 2 hours to visit the caves, considering that if you opt for a guided tour, it will last 40 minutes.

• A magical day at Ses Fonts Ufanes

Have you ever been surprised by natural fountains sprouting from the ground and from the rocks accompanied by sound of Majorcan nature? If not, we already tell you that you're missing something magical, so put on your walking shoes and visit “Ses Fonts Ufanes” de Campanet! An excursion to these natural water sources in the middle of the forest is a unique experience. In addition, the journey is as incredible as it is easy and short (about 40mins in total) That is why it is also recommendable if you are travelling with children. Ses Fonts Ufanes, which was declared a natural monument in 2001, is a phenomenon that can be visited from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and it is the best to park your car on parking lot at the Caves of Campanet. Do not forget that the fountains will be in full splendour after the accumulation of rain, so they do not always carry water, but the forest park area is always worth visiting.

• Adventure on your bike

Campanet is also one of the preferred destinations for cycling, although the incredible hiking trails in the surrounding area also invite. If you are looking for a sports plan outdoors in a spectacular environment, a two-wheeled adventure in Campanet is for you, especially in winter.

Get on the bike and explore all the beauty that surrounds the town, considering that Sa Pobla, Alcúdia and Pollença, are right next door and worth visiting. As it couldn’t be otherwise, at some point you will get hungry and want to try some typical Majorcan food. There are many restaurants in Campanet and its surroundings in which you can stop to taste something delicious, but also in the country hotel Monnàber Vell you have a great alternative. Monnàber Vell has its own vegetable and herbal garden with fresh and organic products. Stop here and try one of the fresh salads or delicious dishes. The hotel produces its own olive oil, smooth and very tasty from its own plantation with some trees being over a hundred years old.

• A Majorcan Tuesday in the market

Campanet is a charming agricultural village that should be enjoyed calmly, walking through its typical narrow streets to enjoy characteristic Majorcan architecture. Start visiting the Plaça Major with the imposing Baroque church of Sant Miquel, built in the 18th century. Continue the day by visiting the valley of the beautiful hermitage of Sant Miquel, one of the oldest in Majorca and probably the place where Campanet was founded.

There are also several small shops around the town and in addition, every Tuesday the weekly market is held, where you can find a wide variety of fresh and delicious local products. If you want to visit a larger market go to the Inca market, which takes place every Thursday.

And don’t forget: When looking for the best rural hotel in the Campanet area, the charming Agroturismo of Monnàber Vell welcomes you in a perfect location just at the foot of the Tramuntana mountain range and a few minutes from the centre town.

If you have a sunny as usual, have in mind that large and pretty beaches of Alcudia and Pollença are practically next door in North of the island.
