Discover the beaches in the Serra de Tramuntana

The Serra de Tramuntana, the incredible mountain range that runs from the south-west to the northeast, is a must-see when on holiday in Mallorca. It shares its name with the region itself and thousands of travellers choose to stay in this emblematic spot. The range is known for its mountainous spots, including its highest point, Puig Major, but there are also a number of beaches that are well worth a visit. Today, we’re going to discover some of the best beaches in the Serra de Tramuntana, Mallorca.

Beaches in Andratx

Cala Egos

Cala Egos is one of the most popular coves on the island of Mallorca. It’s an unspoilt beach with fine, white sand and pedestrian-only access. Bear in mind that as it’s unspoilt, it’s spectacularly beautiful but doesn’t have the facilities you might find at a more touristy beach (toilets and showers), so make sure you take everything you’ll need for the day. Also, don’t forget that it has stunning views over Sa Dragonera, making it even more special.

Cala Conills and Sant Elm beach

These two are the most popular in the Andratx area. Sant Elm beach is one of the most famous, so it’s also one of the busiest during the summer months. It has all the facilities you could need, as well as turquoise water, perfect for a swim. Cala Conills is a small cove made up of a famous jetty, perfect for taking some stunning photos during your escape to Mallorca, and a stony beach.

Beaches in Deià

Cala Deià

Mallorca’s residents love heading to this beach during the summer, and it’s definitely one of the key spots to visit both in the Serra de Tramuntana and across the island. It’s a very pretty beach, with boulders and a number of beach bars nearby where you can enjoy delicious Mediterranean cuisine. If you come to the island, this is one of the beaches in Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana that you just can’t miss.

Platja de Llucalcari

This beach, known as Es Canyeret or simply, Llucalcari, is a stunning, unspoilt, rocky, stony beach and is about 60 metres long. The cove is unbeatably stunning, but it’s difficult to access, so take that into account.

Beaches in Pollença

Cala Sant Vicenc

This zone has a number of emblematic coves with fine sand and almost clear water: Cala Carbó, Cala Barques, Cala Clara and Cala Molins. You’ll also find a number of highly recommended restaurants in the area.

Cala Pi de Sa Posada

When talking about beaches in Mallorca’s Serra de Tramuntana, Cala Pi is one of the most famous. This extensive, sandy, Blue Flag cove is also known as Cala Formentor, and has an islet that goes by the same name. The beach is relatively accessible, both by car and on public transport, and it also has disabled access.
